Description
Finally! A simple idea that was simple to do. A true-blue, bonna fide lazy
bastard custom (or LBC for short).
I kinda dug Wet-Suit when I was younger.
In the cartoon, he was ornery and mean, but Navy SEALS alwasy stuck me
as cool. One reason I liked G.I. Joe so much as a kid was because certain characters
reminded me of grown-ups that I knew. Two guys in particular that I knew--one ex-Marine, and one ex-Navy--would sometimes (lightheartedly) argue why their branch was better...not unlike
Wet-Suit and Leatherneck in the Joe cartoon.
Looking back, Wet-Suit should have had a removeable mask, like Rip Cord and Blowtorch,
considering how I remember him being on dry land and sans facemask throughout most of the 2nd season.
Granted, the 1992 Wet-Suit head sculpt doesn't look like Wet-Suit from the Sunbow
cartoon, or from the DIC cartoon (early 1990s). Rather, it looks like a cross between
both cartoon personas, which is good enough for me. The DIC version of Wet-Suit looks
too much like a young
Mercer, while the Sunbow version is just so damn ugly.
Wet-Suit from the Sunbow cartoon (left)
and from the DIC cartoon (right).
