Tan Hawk
Description
(See description for
Tan Breaker before reading this).
The only thing that made the original Hawk figure cool was
the fact that he had shiny silver suspenders. Other than that,
he was more or less just as good as any other green-shirted dude
from '82. I guess silver suspenders make you a Colonel.
So to make this Tan Hawk stand out from the rank-and-files,
I painted his suspenders and pockets in a brass color, since
silver-on-tan is not the color scheme that gets that "oooh-ahhh"
response I was aiming for.
Now, if you were like millions of kids in the 80s, you saw
the exciting tan-colored Vamp Mark II with tan-colored Clutch figure--and
immediately yearned for Hasbro to make a tan-colored M.M.S. with a
tan-colored Hawk figure, right? Alas, that totally awesome toy was never to be.
This custom shows us what *might* have been.
