About Me
My name is Sal J. Barry, and I am a professional web designer who lives in Chicago. I work on the Digital Media team for a toy company called RC2 Brands, Inc. I have been with that company for over five years, and have worked on many of their websites and other interactive projects.
For the past six years, I have also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member (a.k.a. "part time teacher") at
Columbia College—an art school in downtown Chicago. At Columbia, I have taught web design courses
for over five years, as well as digital imaging courses and computer-related workshops.
Education
In 2001, I graduated with honors from Columbia College, receiving my degree in Interactive Multimedia. While my concentration was in
web design, I took courses in many other disciplines while at the school, including
graphic design, animation,
photography and film. During my senior year, I was webmaster for our school newspaper, The Columbia Chronicle. In addition to my webmaster duties, I penned one to two
articles a week for the paper, and earned three awards—two for web design, and one for journalism.
Want to learn? Have a project?
Sometimes, I do freelance web work for local businesses, and also tutor people in web and graphics applications. If you are interested in hiring me for your next project--or would like a tutor who has experience in what he teaches--feel free to
contact me.
